.ngo (Non-Governmental Organization) domain, although any private company can be considered as non-governmental, it is used for non-profit companies whose purpose is social welfare. They are mostly dedicated to activities related to humanitarian aid, human rights, the environment, among others.
The Public Interest Registry (PIR) is in charge of managing the .ngo domains.
The .ong and .ngo domains are generic top-level (gTLD) that must be requested by NGOs that have validation. The purpose of this domain is to legitimately identify in the network all those organizations that provide help or support to society so that Internet users can make use of that priority content.
